Indonesia is a vast country. It offers a lot of international entry and exit points. The main ones being Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Medan and Manado. These locations will normally have CIQ personnel and infrastructures to support the works.
In secondary or remote locations, due to uneven infrastructures, facilities and local conditions, as well as low frequency of international flights, CIQ officers may not be always available and prior notice as little as forty hours have to be given prior to the flight schedules.
It is quite common to find that field CIQ officers, due to its geographical challenges as well as access of information, or experiences possessed by individuals in dealing with foreign aircrafts/crew, the field officer may interpret a policy differently. This includes situations that can be once a while unpredicted when we operate a foreign registered aircraft into a military controlled airport. If such a situation should arise, we will manage the situation for you.
Customs
Each passenger is allowed to bring up to one liter of alcohol into Indonesia. Cash, in any currency that equals to Indonesian Rupiah IDR 100.000.000,- (one hundred millions Rupiah) needs to be declared. Business people doing foreign currency trading, such as currency exchange shops, are allowed to bring equivalent to IDR 1.000.000.000,- (one billions Rupiah), provided they bring necessary document/clearance from the Central Bank of Indonesia.
In certain airport/s, a wedding couple bringing in a wedding gown is allowed without paying an import tax or excise. In another airport, that may not be the case. Officers may interpret regulations differently. The tolerance level of field officers are also quite different. If you are bringing something that may potentially create a room for discussion with the customs officers, which may affect the smoothness of your flight (hence the mood), we suggest that you consult us prior to flying to Indonesia. A 24-hour or earlier advice to AFM will always work better than a last-minute one.
Visa & Passport
