If you are flying into Halim airport in Jakarta (WIHH)
on April 1-24, 2017 - Expect Disruptions
Dear Patron,
Be advised that due to Indonesian Air Force Anniversary Celebration, Aviation Week and visits by Head of States, Halim Airport (WIHH) will be very busy during the period of April 01 - 24, 2017 although not every day. Please expect flight/schedule disruptions and parking difficulties.
April 1 - 9 or 11, 2017
The south apron, which is located across the runway, where we normally park our aircrafts when they stay overnight, will not be available for parking as around fifty (50) air force aircrafts will be parked there. Parking areas for private jets will be allocated in East, Alpha, Bravo and New South Aprons. Spaces are limited hence please always check for parking if you plan to stay longer than two hours in WIHH. The air force fleet will start arriving into WIHH from April 1 - 4, 2017.
April 5 - 7, 2017
Halim airport will be closed between the hour of 08:00 - 11:00 local time for air force training purposes.
April 8, 2017
No activities planned so far.
April 9, 2017
Halim airport will be closed between the hour of 08:00 - 12:00 local time for Indonesia Air Force Anniversary Celebration.
Notice for private jets operators
Unfortunately, private jets are ranked the last. WIHH applies this priority sequence: VVIP flights, commercial airliners then private jets. WIHH is a military controlled airport, the runway and parking lots belong to them. The airport operator (Angkasa Pura 2) only has the right to regulate the airport terminal and main apron.
When there is a closure of airport, all those airliners aircrafts will arrive and depart the moment the airport opens for business. Will be congested land and air. Private jets can expect delay, but all ground handlers will do their best to move the aircrafts as soon as possible.
April 20 - 21, 2017
Halim airport is to expect the arrival of Vice President of the USA and some aircrafts of the United Nation. No airport closure schedule is announced yet.
April 20 - 24, 2017
Halim airport is to be closed for the Indonesia’s Air Force Jupiter Team demonstration flights. Schedule of closure to be advised.
Notes
- The above schedule may change or add without prior notice
- Expect slots, parking, main apron availability to be affected. Nearby airport for parking back up are Bandung (WICC) and Palembang (WIPP) which are located within one hour flight time
